Alexey Kolosov was born in 1958 in Moscow. After the Lomonosov Moscow State (in 1980), in 1982 has ended the State musical college after named The Gnessins on a class of a classical guitar.

In 1987 became the founder and leader of the weekly jazz program on radio «Youth» under the name «When there is no jazz». Since 1991 it leaves on waves of Radio of Russia.

Alexey Kolosov’s old interest to the Polish jazz has pushed it to idea of carrying out of radio-bridges between its transfer and the third program of the Polish radio. These radio-bridges took place per 1988-1989 In them leading masters of a jazz of both countries, among which Zbigniew Namyslowski, Henryk Majewski, group «Walk away», Alexey Kuznetsov, German Lukianov and others participated.

The Norwegian jazz also possessed for Alexey Kolosov these years special appeal. And here in 1991 the album with one of the brightest Norwegian composers and guitarists Odd-Arne Jakobsen has been written down. In 1993 is removed a documentary film about their joint performances in Moscow and Oslo which has been shown by a TV channel «Culture».

In 1992 Alexey Kolosov had been created group «AURA». In its repertoir a blues both the jazz vocal and tool compositions written by it, and also a blues and jazz classics.

Group «AURA» had 4 compact discs «Russian blues» (1996), «Arbat-boogie» (1999), «Night highway» (2001), «Night highway — volume 2» (2006).

In 2002 took place in St.-Petersburg a concert of group «AURA» with one of the most known a bluesman East Europe Tadeusz Nalepa, whose creativity has rendered considerable influence on a blues Alexey Kolosov’s experiments.

Since 2003 Alexey Kolosov — the ideologist and the Art-director of first three Russian-Norwegian jazz festivals (2003, 2004 and 2005). Since 2006 the festival has expanded the borders and became International festival «Baltic jazz».

For these years visitors of festival were:

Alexey Kolosov — the art-director of one more unique project, Jazz Travel. On May, 25th, 2007 the first project — «Jazz Travel Poland» — has opened the Season of Russian culture in Republic Poland «Russia — Poland. Dialogue of cultures».

From May, 22nd till May, 25th, 2008 took place the first part of project «Jazz Travel Finland. Classic Season». Concerts at stations of Moscow, St.-Petersburg and Helsinki have passed with tremendous success.

Alexey Kolosov the author of music to five feature films. In 2007 Alexey Kolosov has received the Gold Award «Service to Art» of International Academy of Culture And Art.
